If observed in the past year, it seems that General Motors (GM) is indeed actively producing new products for regional China. Yep, the news this time came back from the Bamboo Curtain country. Where Chevrolet is known to be preparing a new car with a crossover type. However, this car is not just any crossover. Because this car is an EV in the form of CUV. And this car is called the Chevrolet Menlo.
The name Menlo itself has many meanings, where Menlo is the name of several districts in the United States. And the name of the City in Ireland, whether Chevrolet refers to which Menlo. Well, if you pay attention, the appearance of the Chevrolet Menlo EV is somewhat different from some of the new Chevrolet products in China such as the Chevrolet Trailblazer or Chevrolet Tracker. Chevrolet Menlo EV uses a narrow headlight with a grille that is not hollow at all, typical of EV. The bumper has a firm curve in the outer side combined with black ornaments and silver skid plate.
The hood has some lines, but it looks quite gentle on this picture. Moving to the side, the Chevrolet Menlo EV uses alloy wheels with dual-tone color spikes and fan-style shapes. Well, if you pay attention again, there is a charger port around the front fender on the right side. And on the side, it shows that the rear glass of this car is made quite gentle so that the impression of an SUV-style coupe looks at this car. Moving to the rear side, the rear lights of the Chevrolet Menlo EV look beautiful with LED bar details and glossy black accents around them.
For the rear bumper, the Chevrolet Menlo EV combines black and silver as on the front side. Exhaust? There certainly isn’t any. Chevrolet Menlo EV itself has a length of 4.6 meters with a width of 1.8 inches and a height of 1.5 meters. Wheel axis distance reaches 2.6 meters. When compared to the CUV sold in Indonesia, the Chevrolet Trax, this car is wider and longer. But far lower in body dimensions. The Chevrolet Menlo EV itself is built from the base of the Buick Velote 6 and uses an electric motor with 150 PS power.
The battery itself uses a lithium-ion type with a capacity of 35 kWh. Well, although there is no information about the distance. But we can refer to the mileage of the Buick Velite 6 EV. Which uses a similar battery with a mileage of 301 km for a single full charge. The Chevrolet Menlo EV will be produced in China. While at the same time GM will also introduce another EV crossover which will temporarily be named the Chevrolet Bolt EUV in the US.
So, what do you think of this Chevrolet Menlo EV figure? Let’s convey your opinion in the comments column below.
